Alfalfa Pellets Machine & Production Plant
Alfalfa is a perennial crop, which means it will grow for several years after planting. Alfalfa is a kind of vigorous plant, as it can re-grow many times after its tops are cut for hay, between 3 and 11 times per year, depending on the area. Its root can grow deeper than 15 feet. It can be planted in spring or fall. Apart from hay, alfalfa can also be made into silage by harvesting the forage and storing it in a silo while it is still moist, where it is preserved in a process called fermentation. Alfalfa is sometimes eaten by sheep or cattle while it is growing in the field. Alfalfa is considered the premier forage of dairy cows. Thus, much of the milk, yogurt, cheese, cream, dried milk and ice cream we eat are connected to alfalfa. Dairy cows today are capable of producing about 60% more milk per cow than in 1970, and these cows need the nutrition that high quality alfalfa hay provides. Other times alfalfa is made into pellets for easy storage and delivery.
Benefits of Alfalfa
- A food source for dairy cows, beef cattle, sheep, horses, and even zoo animals.
- Legumes such as alfalfa convert atmospheric nitrogen into forms that plants can use.
- Facilitates soil conservation by reducing soil erosion.
- A wildlife habitat for hundreds of animals, including some endangered species.
- Lots of open space is created, which provides beauty.
- Flowers on the plant make alfalfa honey the main honey crop in the U.S.
- A habitat for over 1,000 diverse species of insects, spiders, and mites.
Alfalfa Pellets Machine
Alfalfa pellet machine is used to make alfalfa pellets. Alfalfa pellets are usually made from fresh cut forage. Compared with alfalfa itself, alfalfa pellets reduce the speed of protein digestion, thus the utilization of protein is increased. Alfalfa pellets can supplement the protein, energy, vitamins and minerals needed by animals. Alfalfa pellets are primarily made as forage, sometimes they can also be used as energy. Alfalfa pellet machine can be divided into two kinds of alfalfa pellets mills: small pellet mill and large pellet mill.
Small alfalfa pellet mill is actually flat die alfalfa making machine, with a horizontal die inside the machine, on which a series of rollers rotate while making alfalfa pellets. Our alfalfa pellet press machine has 4 different driving engines: electric, gasoline, diesel and PTO. You can choose the right one based on your actual needs.
Large alfalfa pellet extruder, also called industrial alfalfa pelletizer, is ring die designed alfalfa pellet press used in industry. The ring die designed pellet mill machine has a vertical die inside, which looks like a ring. And when the machine is making pellets, the die and the series of rollers inside the die rotate and the rollers compress the raw material powders for making pellets into the holes of the ring die to form pellets. A series of knives will cut the alfalfa pellets as soon as the pellets come out of the die. The industrial alfalfa pellets mill is usually used together with hammer mill, rotary dryer, mixing bin, conveyor, pellet cooler or pellet sifter and pellets packing machine, so as to form the alfalfa pellet production plant, also called alfalfa pellet production line.
Alfalfa Pellet Production Plant
As it mentioned above, the alfalfa pellet production plant in industry contains the following necessary machines: hammer mill, rotary dryer, mixing bin, conveyor, industrial alfalfa pellets mill, pellet cooler, pellet sifter and pellets packing machine. Here are these machines related to making alfalfa pellets that you may want to know. We have successfully set up many large pellets manufacturing lines in different countries with different raw materials. Here are our turnkey projects of biomass pellets production that you can take a quick look.
Apart from these large complete pellet production lines, we also supply small mobile pellets production plant. Our portable small pellets manufacturing plant can make pellets from a wide variety of raw materials, such as: wood, sawdust, rice husks, grass, of course including alfalfa. Its pellets output capacity is from 250kg to 350kg per hour. This homemade pellets production line contains crushing system, draught fan separation system, water tank, mixing bin, flat die pellet mill, vibrating system and conveyor. The small moveable pellet plant can also be used to make alfalfa pellets and you will certainly be satisfied with its performance.
