Common fault of wood pellet mill and solutions

Pellet mill machine is a common equipment for making wood pellet fuel. It is popular with customers for the low cost, easy operation and wide adaptability to materials. But sometimes you may meet with troubles when using pellet mill machine. With this instruction, you can deal with most common fault of pellet mill machine by yourself!

When you feed raw materials into the compression chamber, there is no pellets coming out.

This problem may arise from different factors.

• If the holes on die are blocked, you can get through them with a drill.
• Maybe the moisture content in raw materials is more or less than the required quantity, then you should adjust the moisture content with a dryer machine or humidifier.
• When the clearance between roller and die is too large, the pellet mills are unable to produce, then you should adjust the fastening bolt.
• The feeding scraper fault also result to this situation, then you should replace a new one.
• If it is caused by the breakage of roller bearing, you need to dispatch and replace it.
• You can not feed raw materials into the compression chamber.
• This may result from the material deposit in feeding hopper. For this situation, arch breaking is helpful.
• If the feed augur gets blocked, you need take out and clean it up.

The pellet machine doesn’t start work when you power it on.

• There may be material deposit in the compression chamber. Then you need clear them off and start the machine again.
• This problem many also caused by circuit fault. You need turn the machine off, inspect the cituit carefully and remove the trouble.
• The rotation of roller is unsteady
• This situation is because the belleville spring in the bottom cover of main shaft cease to be effective, or the fastening bolt for the cover get loose.
• You need fastening the bolt or replace the belleville spring.

The pellet mill vibrate fiercely and cause huge noise when working.

For this condition, you need to eliminate the following malfunctions.

• If the bearing wears out badly, you need replace it with a new one.
• If it is the die and roller that wears out, you need to replace them, too.
• Too little clearance between roller and die may also cause this problem, you should increase their clearance.
• There may be some foreign matters in the modulator or feed augur, you need to take them out and clear up.
• Small hard objects may be pressed into the flat die, you need to remove them.

Wood pellet yield can’t reach the required amount.

• The molding rate of wood pellets is low. You need to adjust the water content of raw materials.
• The raw materials are not rightly mixed. You should adjust the material proportion for pelletizing.
• Holes of die are blocked. Clear off foreign matters in the die.
• Abrasion of roller and die can also cause production decrease, you need to check and replace these wearing parts regularly.
• The electric current doesn’t reach the rated value. You can increase the current and the rotating speed of feed augur, so as to enlarge the feeding volume.

Oil leakage

• If somewhere in the pellet machine have oil leakage, that results from oil seal breakage. What you need do is to replace a new oil seal.
